Hello Everyone!Its so great to be back and to share with you our latest travel adventures with our 4 kids!Yes this was the first time we travelled abroad as a family of 6!We just came back from a lovely trip to Cancun Mexico and I would love to share with you all our adventures in this beautiful country.First I would like to talk about the planning of this trip as how we got the most cost saving deals to travel as a family of 6.

We booked our flights in the early spring of 2024 so about 6 months before our departure and got an amazing deal flying with spirit airlines.

We now take up a whole entire row on the plane so that's exciting!We saved a ton of money by booking this flight well in advance.Round trip we paid about $1,300 for our family of 6.One thing I will mention is it is important to search throughout the months for the cheapest dates if your looking for a flight deal.I looked on weekdays and compared prices flying out on weekdays compared to weekends.The prices were definitely cheaper outside of the months June and July and prices went down in August so I was quick to secure a flight booking the moment I saw it.I encourage you when booking a flight if funds are not readily available you can use services like Affirm or a no interest credit card to secure the flight and immediately pay the purchase off.Flights change rapidly so sometimes deals are available and gone the next day.

 

Traveling with 4 kids 5 and under definitely at times can have its challenges however it's all about being prepared!It is important to get prepared for the flight well in advance with fun activities that can keep your young travelers entertained while exploring the world.My top recommendation would be when traveling with kids 5 years old and under is to avoid bringing too many toys and focus more on mess free activities.Our kids really enjoyed playing with a product called Wikki Stix.

The creative string is sort of like play dough without the mess.These stix are able to stick to airplane windows where kids can make designs using a variety of colors.They can also make designs with these sticks while on the go.The packaging is small and portable and is perfect for kids who like to doodle. I recommend transferring the stix to a zip lock bag if you are tight on carry on baggage space like us.

These awesome books kept them super busy and entertained on our 4 hour flight.These books are great as they come in a variety of stories that your child can set up using their imagination and stickers.The topics we chose were vehicles, dinosaurs and farm animals.This also came in handy at our hotel when there was down time between swimming and excursions as kids were able to play with these sticker books since we were traveling with limited toys.

 

 

An LCD drawing tablet was also an awesome purchase for our kids while on the go.

This drawing board received much use during our travels and helped to avoid bringing messy markers and crayons that can roll on an airplane.If your kids are anything like my kids they love to draw on walls and we didn’t want to risk issues while traveling especially staying at our resort.We purchased 3 of these boards for each of our older 3 children.They were able to get creative with the drawing boards and it occupied them for hours!These boards are also super slim so can fit in a carry on bag easily.They come in a variety of colors and also come with a drawing pen attached.

Dont forget to pre download your children's favorite tv shows and movies on your phone for the flight.

I'm also a little old school and still enjoy using dvds when traveling with our kids.I also recommend a portable dvd player with a variety of fun shows for your kids when your not near Wi-Fi.

 

Once I secured our flights I started to research on the best places to stay in the Hotel zone in Cancun.This is important especially for safety to stay in the hotel zone as there is plenty of police presence and it is a very safe area especially for families.

I started researching all inclusive resorts and rooms to accommodate our large family and really struggled to find affordable deals.Every hotel wanted us to book a a large expensive villa when we were simply looking for an affordable accommodation for our family of 6!I then decided to look into Airbnbs as we wanted a simple beach vacation.After looking at Airbnb prices and condos we first decided on booking one as the Airbnbs have full kitchens and multiple rooms with plenty of space which was ideal for our family.They are a short distance away from grocery stores and many offer similar amenities as a large resort.Many Airbnbs in Cancun also had ocean views which I felt was unbeatable compared to resorts.

We originally booked an Airbnb which had a full kitchen,4 swimming pools including an infinity pool and 3 Jacuzzis.Laundry was also included which is a plus when traveling with small children.

We booked this Airbnb 6 months in advance with free cancellation and we were able to secure it with just a small 1 night deposit which is great if it takes you time to save for vacations like me!

After researching throughout the next 6 months I kept my eyes peeled on any new deals that may have become available at an all inclusive resort.Even though Airbnb was very affordable and was located in an awesome location the hotel zone I did want to research all inclusive resorts as an option and keep my eye out on any resort deals.As the date of our travels got closer I discovered the resort Crown Club Paradise had an amazing deal with %60 percent off all rooms.We ended up booking this lovey resort that was all inclusive and cancelling our Airbnb.I was really looking forward to this as I needed a break from everyday cooking and they also had a built in kids club into the resort which is a must when traveling with 4 kids 5 and under!

This hotel has it all!A dedicated kids club for children ages 4 through 12 years old.With a large screen movie area,water park,crafts,snacks and a basketball court to keep your kiddos busy.

My kids absolutely loved the kids club and enjoyed all of the amenities including a pajama party hosted by the kids club one of the evenings we were there.This allowed us to have a much needed break and allowed the kids to interact with their peers.

The resort also has a baby paradise for kids ages 18 months to 3 years old and they even have babysitters that watch your kids after club hours!Our 2 year old loved baby paradise with all its fun activities and it even had a ball pit!

If you are traveling with a child younger then baby paradise age requirements like us then I would recommend to research reputable nanny’s whom are background checked in Cancun as the hotel babysitters will only watch children 18 months and up.Send me a message and I would love to share with you our personal nanny’s that we used during our travels!

The hotel also has all you can eat included in your stay and over 7 restaurants including 2 buffet options, along with 3 snack bars and 6 bars serving drinks.This is a great option when traveling with young kids especially picky eaters like our two year old!Having multiple options definitely takes the stress away for parents and helps aid in a relaxing vacation.There is also 24 hour room service that is just $5 per day where you can order unlimited food.This came in handy when we had a very early pick up for an excursion and we were able to order an early meal in the wee hours of the morning.

 

There is also a dedicated chef that cooks a variety of foods after restaurant hours overnight which is another bonus!

 

We enjoyed all of the restaurants but I will say one of our favorites was the Mexican restaurant Los Gallos and the buffet restaurant La Palapa for its variety.

Chilaquiles,Chorizo con Papas y Huevo.

 

They made the best chilaquiles which we enjoyed almost every morning and Chorizo and papas.The Italian restaurant La piazza is also a very nice choice especially if your looking for a more fancy restaurant at the resort.Waynes boots which is steakhouse was super fun and we were able to enjoy this before our departure.We loved the atmosphere and of course the steak is unbeatable!Overall you cant go wrong with any of the restaurants at the resort as all the food is amazing!

 

 

 

Other amenities include a spa offering treatments and massages which was so very nice when my hubby and I were able to have us time without the kiddos.The Spa Acqua Di Mare Spa was simply what we needed.

This Spa is located at the resort and has 3 Jacuzzis and multiple spa packages.We booked the couples journey which was a 50 minute massage with 30 mins of relaxing in a steam room and access to the 3 Jacuzzis.Refreshing drinks were included in our spa package as well.This was definitely a highlight to our vacation and the masseuse did a wonderful job.I highly recommend to book this upon your stay at Crown paradise club Cancun.

 

There are 4 pools at the resort, each with a variety of views. There is an infinity pool,family pool and children's pool.There is also an adults only pool with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea.

                                           

Of course there is beach access which is where we spent plenty of time at.The water is so warm and gorgeous and is definitely a must when visiting Cancun.

 

 

There is also a gym, a golf course, a water park and soccor field available.

 

 

Overall staying at Crown Paradise Club Cancun was the best decision for us and we truly enjoyed our time there!All of the amenities combined with the great hospitality really elevated our Cancun vacation.Check out my next blog on things to do in Cancun on an 8 day vacation!
